Employment written client commendations - legalities?

I think best that you make contact with source of commendation and ask if you have there approval. Writing quotes from anonymous people doesn't have much impact because it could be made up or they have changed their mind since last quoting. Same for references you should contact referee to see if you have their blessing before naming them as your referee.
